How much does polished concrete cost?
Polished concrete floors create a wow factor to your home. To give you a rough guide polished concrete costs between $80-$120 per square metre. Labour is the biggest part of the process .You are require to pass the grinder over the floor up to 12 times to get a polished affect. Polished concrete is durable low maintenance and easy to clean.
How do I clean my polished concrete floor?
To clean a polished concrete floor use water or a neutral PH all purpose cleaner. Do not use any degreaser or acid based cleaner. This will only decrease the gloss due to etching the surface. All liquid spills need to be cleaned up as soon as possible. Polished concrete is durable but still a breathable porous floor.
Is there a cheaper way to have a polished concrete look.
Yes A1 floors can diamond grind a concrete floor and seal the floor with a clear epoxy sealer or resins. This will give you a similar look to polished concrete. But this is not as tough and durable as a polished concrete floor but certainly has its place in many situations.
Can I lay tiles over the top of my existing tiles.
Yes you can in some cases but at your own peril. Tilers and glue suppliers will only guarantee their work and products if the tiles are laid on top of a well prepared slab this ensures they meet industry standards. Tiles on top of tiles can also create high level problems too.
Will removing my tiles create a lot of dust through my house?
A1 floors will always take every precaution to prevent dust travelling through the house. From screening off areas with plastic sheeting and using dust extractors when grinding.
