The Grinding and Polishing Process

A true grinding and polishing system is very time consuming as it requires a process consisting of 10 – 15 steps.

Resin Bonded Polishing – Polishing discs with resin bonded diamond segments, of varying grades, are then used in the final polishing stage.

Step 1 - Metal Bonded Grinding Phase
The initial grinding step uses 30 grit diamonds to remove high spots, imperfections and contaminants.
Step 2
The second grinding step uses 60 grit diamonds which removes first step scratches.
Step 3
The third step apply liquid grout is applied to the surface and 120grit diamonds grind the dust being created and forced into holes created by air bubbles and pulled out aggregates.
Step 4
The forth step we apply a hardener over the concrete this produces a chemical reaction in the concrete once dry we start the polishing process.
Step 5 - Resin Bonded Polishing Phase
We start with a 50 grit diamond resin pad then working through to 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and finally 3000 grit.
Step 6
The concrete is then sealed with an impregnating sealer this penetrates 2-5 mm inside the pores of concrete preventing deep staining from oils and spills.
